Is there a way using photoshop CS or 3rd party software to digitally sign jpgs so that ownership can be proved?

Is there a way using photoshop CS or 3rd party software to digitally sign jpg photos so that ownership can be proved later in case someon euses them without the orginal owner's pernission? Please indicate the Photoshop technique or the name of 3rd party photo software. The signature may be visually evident or some how hidden.

2. I make wallpapers in Photoshop. When I want to make some credits for myself in the picture. I then find a similar colour to the wallpaper (Eye drop tool) and then write in my name in small text. It should not be visible at 100% zoom, but must be visible to at least 1000%. Good Luck! Or lower opacity setting if you wish to do it that way?
